Customising your dress at crystal and pearl Boutique

Happy New Year! I hope you’ve had a magical time over the festive period—filled with joy, laughter, and maybe a little sparkle! As we step into the new year and begin returning to our routines, I thought it would be the perfect time to talk about something truly exciting: customising dresses!
Here at Crystal & Pearl Boutique, I’ve noticed that not everyone is aware of just how much we can personalise our made-to-order dresses. Trust me, I don’t want anyone missing out on the opportunity to create their dream dress! Whether it’s a communion dress, flower girl dress, gala day outfit, or a gown for any special occasion, we offer a world of possibilities to make it uniquely yours.
Customisations can range from subtle tweaks to full-blown transformations. Love the dress but want a longer hemline? Need extra sparkle or would like it a little simpler? Dreaming of a particular shade to match your event’s theme? We’ve got you covered! Our skilled team will work closely with you to ensure every detail is exactly how you envision it.
Skirt Changes
Some customisations are straightforward. For example, some customers love the bodice of one dress and the skirt of another, so they opt for a simple swap—a change that can be easily done! If you prefer a satin skirt instead of tulle (or vice versa), we’re happy to accommodate. Maybe you adore the skirt on your chosen dress but wish to add a personal touch, like scattered pearls or rows of diamantes at the back—we can bring those ideas to life. Also, If you have a little girl that loves sparkle then amazing news! For our tulle skirts we can add a sparkle layer to add that finishing touch. I personally love the sparkle layer and honestly the glitter is not an 'In Your Face' type of glitter and is actually very subtle (so parents don't worry if you aren't keen on glitter) We also welcome your creativity, so if you have a vision for your perfect dress, share it with one of our stylists, and we’ll make it a reality.

Adding/Removing Sleeves
Another way you can customise your dress is changing sleeves or adding sleeves onto your dress. If you love the bodice on a sleeveless dress but feel it looks too bare for your child, or you think something is missing, we have the perfect solution. Worry no more, we can add whichever sleeve you prefer whether it’s an embellished cap sleeve, a plain satin sleeve, long sleeve, or mesh. You really have the option to design what you would prefer. You can also add some extra beading or change beading to your preference. On the other hand, if you prefer a sleeveless look, you can remove the sleeves. The options truly are endless.
Changing Beading
Do you love a little bit of extra glam? Customise your dress is by changing the beading. For instance, if you prefer glass beads over pearls, you can easily swap them out for glass or diamante accents. You can also mix different types of beading for a unique look. Some customers have added diamantes between pearl beading to give their dress an extra sparkle. If you feel your dress is too plain, consider adding beading to the sleeves, neckline, or back for an added touch of elegance.

Adding Belts or Bows
Another way you can customise your dress is to add bows and belts to your dress. Many Dresses do come with bows and belts but if yours doesn’t, you can add them. If your dress, comes with a belt or bow that isn’t your favourite you can also switch to one that suits your little one’s style more. Or if you like the belt/bow but feel like it’s a little too plain, you can also bling it up with some beading.
